5 Types Of WordPress Themes To Build A Great Website

Thursday, June 16th, 2011

WordPress is wildly popular for web designers, small business owners (like me), and bloggers (me again). Since WordPress hit the scene, thousands and thousands of WordPress themes have materialized. The end result is there are now a variety in type of WordPress themes to choose from.

This article sets out the types of WordPress themes you can buy. You’ll have to forgive me, but I’ll be coining some terms to describe the types of WordPress themes you can buy and/or use (after all, there are free themes and so you don’t need to buy them).

5 Types of wordPress Themes are as follows:

1. Premium WordPress themes

I didn’t coin this term. Premium themes refer to themes you buy. Within the “premium theme” realm are all kinds of wonderful themes. In fact, it’s the fact there’s a market for premium themes that has financed some impressive theme designs and functionality.

2. Free WordPress themes

There are thousands of free themes. In fact, once you install WordPress on your server, you’ll be able to browse thousands of themes which you can use for free.

One caveat I have about free themes is to look “under the hood” for any outgoing links to other sites. You’ll want to remove these links. Some links may be to nefarious websites such as prescription, pornographic, and gambling sites. You don’t want your business website or family blog linking to these types of sites.

3. WordPress theme generators

The WordPress theme generator is relatively recent development. I love these themes because they give pretty much anyone the ability to customize layout and design easily and quickly. It’s practically using drag and drop technology in WordPress. If you can conceive it, you can build it with a WordPress theme generator.

WordPress theme generators are premium themes. In other words you need to buy them. They’re well worth the cost.

4. Specific-purpose themes

There are hundreds of uses for websites – e-commerce, blog, magazine, photography, video, business, sales pages, membership sites, sports-related sites, product reviews, and much, much more. As more people and businesses turn to WordPress to build websites, wordPress theme developers are creating websites for very specific purposes. For example, you can now find themes designed for restaurants, lawyers, product reviews, realtors, specific sports, fitness, etc.

5. Tumblog themes

A tumblog is mix of Twitter and blogging. Tumblogs create a stream of posts which you can read in their entirety on the home page. A quality tumblog theme makes it easy upload images, video, integrate with Twitter and Facebook, and of course add blog posts.

Within all of the above-listed types of themes, you can find a huge variety of layouts and designs to meet your needs. Common layouts include 1 to 4 columns (I tend to go with 2 and 3 column layouts). The WordPress theme generators and some premium themes make it easy to create different layouts on different posts and pages.

Next, buy StudioPress themes, or more specifically buy Genesis themes to get access to some of the best premium themes available.

Get Your Article Accepted Guaranteed

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

There are hundreds and more article content directories on the internet today. Just submitting your article to article directory sites doesn’t guarantee that it is going to be accepted. Many article directories have acceptance requirements that are reasonably non-specific in nature. Nearly all of the more established, more well-liked sites, are often difficult about what gets published and what gets denied.

If you would like to make sure that more of your articles are accepted by online article directories you have to make sure your article meets the article directory owners requirements. As an owner and publisher of article sites for years, I’m dazzled at how many authors don’t bother to read thru submission suggestions. A handful of sites will accept any article submitted, particularly if it’s a less popular article directory, as a way to build up their content count. Nonetheless sites that are far more established with higher Alexa and Google rankings, have a tendency to be more picky in what’s posted in their article directory.

The most common mistakes authors make in posting their article include:

1. Not following the formatting guidelines. Word wrap and HTML formatting preserve the page layout of the directory. Articles submitted with word wrapping on is one of our largest reasons for rejecting articles. Forced breaks at sixty characters might be satisfactory for directories that basically feed ezines, but it is not extraordinarily appealing on a webpage. Posting HTML articles on sites that accept only text articles is also quite exasperating for an editor to get rid of.

2. Writer names not capitalized. While many authors are rushing to submit articles to loads of sites as quickly as possible, many do not make the effort to capitalize their first & last names in the author profile area. It appears to me that if Susan Smith enters her name as susan smith, it somehow makes her seem as if she is minimizing herself as an author. Be happy with who you are and tell the world you are Susan Smith!

3. Punctuation and spelling mistakes. Publishers don’t have time to proof read each article for typos or punctuation mistakes. If you would like to make sure that your article is picked up from these content directory sites and used on other web sites, you will hope to ensure you have carefully checked your article for screw-ups. Ezine and content editors regularly get material for their newsletters from these content directory websites. If your article is not well crafted or contains lots of inaccuracies, your content is probably not going to be used for any reason aside from giving you a free link to your site from the content directory.

If you’d like to increase the exposure you receive through your writing, make sure you are familiar with the requirements for each article directory that you submit articles to. By adhering to these author laws, you not only increase your chances of having your content accepted, you also set yourself up as a convincing article author and increase your website traffic also.

Thursday, June 9th, 2011

The significance of Content Articles in today’s websites and web based companies are immeasurable. They dictate a whole lot within the success and the drive of traffic into one’s site. It has grow to be a key element in creating a web site work and earns a profit. A website operator and owner must have the good sense to contain Content Articles in his or her site that can operate for them and earn them the many advantages Articles can give to their website.

Articles have been recognized to be the driving force in driving website visitors to a website. Articles are a factor in giving site substantial rankings in search result pages. The greater a website ranks the bigger slice with the web site visitors flow pie he gets. With a huge number in visitors flow, you can find a lot more profits and more potential for other income generating schemes at the same time.

But, it is not just about stuffing your internet site with Content Articles; they have particular needs at the same time. These requirements needs to be met to obtain the maximum advantages an post will supply for your site. A properly written post will catch the eyes and interest of your clients and keep them coming back for more. They would also have the opportunity to recommend your website to others.

Here are some suggestions to aid you and assist you in making your Articles. Below you will read about four items all Content Articles should have to make it effective and useful in making your internet site a profit earning and traffic overflowing web site.

KEY PHRASES AND KEYWORD PHRASES.

An post must often be centered on the keywords and search term phrases. As every web website visitor goes to a website, you’ll find those who are just merely browsing but actually looking for any particular something. When this occurs, a searcher normally goes to a investigation engine and sorts within the research phrases they’re looking for (e.g. Toyota Camry, Meningitis, Tax Lawyer and Etcetera)! It might be anything they want.

The Important issue is that you’ve got an write-up that has the keywords that are related to your website. For instance, should you maintain an auto parts site, you should have the opportunity t have Content Articles about cars and their components. You will find numerous tools in the world wide web that gives service in helping a webmaster out in determining what key phrases and key phrase phrases are mostly sought out. You are able to use this tool to decide what research phrases to use and write about.

KEY PHRASE DENSITY

Know that you’ve got your keywords and search term phrases, you need to use them fully. An article will need to have good keyword density for a research engine to “feel” its presence. Content Articles need to at least have ten to fifteen percent of search term density in their subject material for search engines like google to rank a web site high in their investigation results. Obtaining a greater rank is what Content Articles do greatest for a web site.

Search term density is the number of times a key phrase or key phrase phrase is utilized on an post. The number varies depending around the number of words used in an article. An effective article will need to have a keyword density that’s not as well substantial or too low. Using a very high density, the essence from the write-up is lost and might turn off a reader as well as the search engines like google. It comes off as overeager. A low number may possibly be ignored by the engines like google.

GOOD WRITE-UP CONTENT

Like what is stated above, you can’t just riddle an write-up with key phrases. They need to also be regarded as excellent reading materials. Content Articles should be in a position to entertain people as properly as provide good details and assist for their requirements. Content Articles should be written properly with correct spelling and good grammar. If you want individuals to trust you, make your function great and nicely thought out.

Individuals respond nicely to figures, details and statistics. Attempt to get great details and as many facts as you’ll be able to. A excellent and nicely written post will boost your reputation as an expert in your chosen field or topic. As a lot more folks believe in you. They are going to be able to trust you and your goods.

LINKING ARTICLES

And an additional essential issue to keep in mind. If you’re going to submit Content Articles to ezines and/or contribute your Articles to newsletters and other websites, DON’T ever forget to include a hyperlink for your web site. A little resource box having a brief description of your internet site and you should often be placed correct after your articles that you’ve got submitted. If people like your articles, they’ll most likely click to the link directing them to your site.

Lets Go Over Some Of The More Essential Wordpress Customizations

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

If you own your own blog, then you would more than likely by now be aware that there are many customizations and extra plugins and components available. Some people put them to great use, as much as it may be possible to copy WordPress blogs, you want to remain a little bit original. That’s fine. Lets cover some of the basic plugins and customizations that I recommend anyone to use with their blog.

Social Media is an essential integration in just about any website. In this instance, I am talking about the integration of social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and so on. As of late, this has become more and more important as search engines like Google are paying more attention to the way that websites are “liked” and “tweeted” about, due to the fact that this is solid information that they can use in their own algorithm when it comes to ranking a page in the SERPS.

Another great integration is a simple opt in form so that your readers can subscribe to a newsletter, or email list of some kind. There are many services out there such as Aweber, Mailchimp adn GetResponse, each will provide you with some great options as far as optin form customization. To the contrary of the belief of some people, Email Newsletters are still very effective, and can help you retain your visitors, plus if you are into that kind of thing, make a few dollars as well with some simple email marketing tactics as well.

Enabling your readers to be in contact with you is of huge benefit, especially if you plan on really developing a solid relationship with them. As such, it is vital that you allow your readers a way to stay in touch with you through way of a contact form. There are many available, the most notable being Gravity Forms, which does a fantastic job of managing autoresponses, and diverting inquiries through to custom email adresses.

Last, and certainly not least, I recommend the use of an automatic backup plugin. What these plugins will do is quite simple – they copy WordPress blogs to a backup location, in case something bad happens. As much as many people will look at this as being a bit extreme, it happens. I speak from personal experience when I say that there is nothing worse than losing an entire blog in one hit.

Of course, there are many other options out there for blog customization, but these simple customizations will most definitely help you get a little bit of an edge with your blog, and connect more closely with your audience.

Is your blog customized so much, that creating new blogs on new domains is becoming too much work? Sounds like you really need to discover how to copy Wordpress blogs. discover how its done today at http://www.copywordpress.com/

Article Promotion – Sales, Serps and Article Directory Script Insider Secrets

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

Appreciating the Main Issue of Article Marketing and Article Directory Scripts

My guess is that right now, you are starting to notice the big picture with article marketing. Whether or not you are trying to increase your serps by distributing to multiple article directories, or you are looking to increase your site traffic, article marketing is potent. Then again, why are so many article directories popping up all over the www? Due to the fact, article directory enthusiasts have noticed that they can take advantage of your information for free and make more money independently from it, also!

Even if you could care less about search engine rank, generally you should notice that as you use articles to market your services, your domains will become more popular.

Your domain will by natural means receive more oneway links and site visitors, and frequently your seo will go up, even without any particular aim on it. Obviously the guy who installed their own article directory script where your article is shared is getting that same visitors first and foremost as men and women will examine your article if effectively authored.

One of the many highly effective things about article marketing, mainly if you are building an email marketing list, is that subscribers who come to you after reading one of your articles tend to purchase more than clients who come to you from all kinds of other targeted traffic sources. Typically, when someone subscribes to your list after studying one or several of your articles, they are already to begin trusting you, and might buy from you sooner than someone who needs to read a number of emails from you and perhaps communicate on-line just before they will actually buy.

Article composing simply provides a completely unique opportunity for you to draw in buyers to your email list who have a prequalified curiosity and confidence in your product or service. However, article directory publishers have a heightened sense of stature and dominance because they are important information givers and usually are not marketing any specific services or products.

Having Patience as Your Article Marketing Endeavors Come Together

When you first get started with article marketing, things will almost certainly move slowly for you. One of many things that happen with article marketing is an rapid benefit. When you have only two articles composed, you are not going to have a flood of traffic. But if you publish and submit a small amount of articles a day for several weeks or months, you will begin to go through an incredible effect, and it will all become beneficial. Just remember, you will continue to obtain the results of articles you have posted for as long as they are online and circulated. I have personally viewed the effects of this and have earned money from articles published more than twelve months ago. So when you have ten articles or one hundred articles published, you will have ten times or a hundred times the site visitors that you will acquire after the initial article.

Managing an article directory script in addition to your main sources of profit are valuable in that you now influence the gateway to facts about your product and services and those of your online competitors, too. This can give you not only a leg up in marketing but monetize the information and facts your competitor is publishing on the internet as well.

It is easy to become discouraged when you have drafted just a number of articles, and your product sales is not consistent with the time you put into article composing and submitting. This is where the power of owning your own article directory is needed. Your small business can start to flourish through the work of 1,000’s of other authors who are posting their articles to article directory scripts every day.

Though not the topic of this article you may want to invest in an article submitter or article submission software to help you upload your articles to numerous of the major article directory web-sites online at present. Furthermore, let me go as far to say this, if you are only going to write a few articles and then give up, you might as well not write or publish any articles. Article marketing is really powerful, but it is most powerful when there is a cumulative effect, and that snowballing effect needs time to work and several articles and submissions.

Look at an article directory script powered by Wordpress to launch your own private article directory web site. Marketing online can be fulfilling if you don’t experience the head aches a php article script might probably give you.

4 Reasons To Use WordPress For Your Website

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

Every webmaster gets into building websites through various paths. My journey is unique, but I suspect has some similarities to other web designers.

For the last 2 years I’ve pretty much built all websites with WordPress. But WordPress wasn’t my first kick at building websites.

I started with Site Build It! It was good for learning, but I wasn’t wild about the designs. That said, the SBI library of resources about building an online business is second-to-none. The cost was well worth it given what I learned.

Then I toyed around with Joomla. I thought Joomla was a wonderful gift because it’s free. However, it was a little too cumbersome for my liking.

That’s when my web design and development world opened up with WordPress.

Like some many people I thought WordPress was just for blogs. This is one of the biggest myths out there. I’ve built dozens of stunning business websites with WordPress and using themes.

My 4 Reasons for Using WordPress

1. It’s free. What could be better – a terrific website building platform that doesn’t cost anything to use. I’ve since paid for many themes, but there are free themes available. They say there’s no free lunch, but WordPress is an exception.

2. You can build any kind of website. Sure, you can build a great blog, but with the right theme, and there are thousands of them, you can build stunning static websites. I use WordPress for my offline business websites and enjoy high traffic and conversion rates.

3. Almost unlimited free functionality. There’s this really cool community of developers who create plugins that add all kinds of functionality to WordPress. Most of these are free, but some do cost money. For pretty much any function you want, there’s a plugin that will work for you.

Moreover, many other third party developers ensure their software integrates with WordPress because WordPress is so incredibly popular and widely used. This means that if you purchase any other type of software to integrate with your website, it’s likely it will integrate with a WordPress site.

4. Easy to use. When I started building websites, I didn’t know a single line of code. I never took a class. I knew zip. Yet, within a couple of days, I had a live website on the Web with WordPress. Since then I’ve learned some code because I spend so much time building sites … but you can get away with building websites in WordPress with never having to learn any code.

The future of WordPress is bright. It’s still incredibly popular and the platform improves all the time. Moreover, more and more third party developers such as theme creators are coming out with some incredible themes that make setting up a stunning website a breeze.

Want To Run Your Very Own Web Site ?

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

Blogging these days have become extremely popular amongst so many different groups of people. Why would you want to blog in the first place? Well, blogging is similar to writing your own journal but the advantage is that you can share your thoughts as well as news with all your friends as well as the rest of the Internet.

Most bloggers these days will write about the things they’re interested in such as their hobbies, news, technology, gadgets, and so forth. I suggest that you pick a topic that you’re interested in or a hobby that you are good at and start sharing as well because blogging can be a great form of secondary income for you and your family. I bet you’ve already heard of cases where people have left their jobs because their websites can sustain their current lifestyles. Is this true – yes. Will you become a millionaire from your blog – it depends on how successful you get.

The more you write, the more popularity your website gains. In this game, traffic equals money. So, once you get a few visitors happening, you can start monetizing your blog with pay per click ads or affiliate networks, where someone clicks or buys something listed on your website, you get paid – simple as that. This is why so many popular websites on the Internet have allowed their owners to live the Internet entrepreneur’s lifestyle. Who knows, you might be one of them one day?

Can you actually run a private blog? Yes, you can in fact. Especially if you host your own account, you can make it private and for your eyes only. This is done by instructing the search engines not to index your pages, as well as putting on a password lock so that only you or your friends can read it.

Blogging can be a very inexpensive way to get started creating your own websites as well. You can choose between hosting your own site (which will cost you a few dollars per month) or you can go with the free website alternatives.

There are some really good and reliable website building and hosting services out there such as squarespace.com that will not only host your blog for you but will provide you with a template design builder with which you can design your own personal “look” without knowing any HTML code at all. This will cost you about $20 per month with ongoing fees. A free alternative is WordPress.com but you will have to provide your own hosting for this.

If you go with this option, try reputable hosting services such as host gator.com. These guys have been around for a while and they are in my opinion, one of the most reliable around. The last thing that you would want is for your blog to become suddenly inaccessible because of some technical issues that your hosting service is having. Check on various forums about website hosting and see what others have to say about the different types of services available, and if they are reliable enough or not.

What about a 100% free alternative? There are so many options here that you can go with and they do not cost a cent to get started.

Some free examples are TypePad and Blogger.com and they cost nothing to join and there is nothing to pay either – no ongoing fees. The downside is that you have no control over these sites you build and they can sometimes be taken down for no reason at all – stuff happens. However, these are pretty rare happenings in my opinion.

Five Types Website Building Platforms

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

Once upon a time, you built a website with HTML in a static format. You either coded it in a simple .txt doc or used something a little more fancy like Front Page or Dreamweaver.

Now, your options for building a website are seemingly endless.

There are 5 main types of website building platforms. They are as follows:

1. HTML

Yes, the old-school method is alive and well. You can design and code from scratch or use a HTML template. Your choice. Frankly, I like templates because it saves a lot of time – all that remains is tweaking the site for your needs.

2. CMS

I love CMS platforms such as WordPress and Joomla. There’s Drupal and others, but I’m not familiar with them. CMS platforms make it incredibly easy for anyone to add articles and blogs posts once the CMS platform and it’s design (through templates or themes) are installed. From there you easily add content as much as you want. Better yet, anyone can add content in CMS because no coding knowledge is needed.

3. Flash

Flash undoubtedly creates some of the prettiest and most stunning websites. But, Flash is a complex coding language. You can also get Flash templates, but those are not that easy to customize.

Frankly, I don’t like Flash for 2 reasons:

First, I don’t like websites that have a long load-time. You always know when you end up at a Flash website by the “loading” timer you encounter.

Second, Flash websites aren’t that search engine friendly.

4. Online Website Builders

These are cool and many offer you free websites that are hosted on their server. If you settle with an online website builder, I recommend you pay for a custom domain and spring for hosting. Having a website hosted on another site isn’t very professional.

Online website builders are about as easy-to-use as you get for building a website. You log in, choose a design, and start building your site with drag and drop technology.

5. Website Creator Software

You can buy some sophisticated website creator software that makes it pretty easy to build quality websites. These are good because they result in static websites, which if you don’t need to add content daily or weekly, is a good way not to use too much of your website hosting resources. CMS such as WordPress and Joomla are web hosting hogs.

Next, research then buy website templates, or specifically compare and then buy WordPress themes.

Free Blogs! – Know some merits and demerits of free blogs

Monday, May 16th, 2011

Most of the beginners prefer to signup up with free blogs. Blogging is the most popular online business in the internet because making money is easy through blogs. Also now with free blogs any one can start their blog and make money online. If you are looking for reliable blogging platforms, then I would definitely recommend you to choose bloggers and wordpress site. Apart from hosting facility, you will also get domain name from these free blogs. Bloggers and wordpress sites are managing more customers and even now their customer’s base continues to raise. Bloggers platform has more advantages when compared with the wordpress platform.

You should be ready to face merits as well as demerits if you signup with free blogs. By choosing blogger platform, you are some what safe.

Merits of free blogs

1. You will get free domain name to run your blog through free platforms.

2. You will get unlimited hosting.

3. Even though your blog is free, it can be exposed in search engines like yahoo, google and bing.

4. You can make money through your blog by placing advertisements in your blog.

5. You can also acquire the Adsense account easily through free blog platforms and make revenue through it.

6. Administering free blogs is not difficult. Both wordpress and bloggers site comes with standard rules which can be understood easily by the newbie.

7. Lots of features are offered with free blog platforms. Especially you will get templates and free themes to enhance your site.

8. Free blogs fetch you income in many ways, but your investment is zero. So, beginners who are new to online business will be highly benefited with free blogs. You can even start earning money within few hours after the launch of your blog.

Demerits of free blogs

1. You will not get MySQL database with the free platform. This is a costly disadvantage in my view. With self hosting blogs you will get unlimited email accounts, unlimited bandwidth and unlimited disc space which is missing in free blogs. The free blogs are offered with subdomain name. This will not be helpful to you when you think of widening your business. This free platform does not allow you to run scripts.

2. With free blog platforms you are not allowed to choose the blog name of your choice. If you choose to signup with bloggers site, then your blog name will end with blogspot.com and if you choose to signup with wordpress your domain name will end with wordpress.com.

3. Your blog is not secured in case of free blog platforms. The free blog platforms have the right to ban your site any time if you violate any of the rules laid by them. Some free blogs will be deleted even without any prior intimation.

4. You will not get more advertising opportunity; hence the revenue through advertisements will not be more. But, if your blog draws huge traffic, then even free blogs will make money through advertisements.

You can choose either bloggers or wordpress platform according to your necessity. But, I recommend the newbie to stay with the free blog platform if they are able to draw more traffic. Changing from the free platform to self hosted one is always a disadvantage. Your ranking will be lost in search engines when you shift from free to paid blog platform.
